Allan brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in higher education finance, strategic planning, and institutional operations, with deep expertise in financial sustainability, restructuring initiatives, and mission-driven institutional strategy.
He has advised colleges, universities, and affiliated organizations on a broad range of complex financial and operational matters, including cash flow management, enrollment-driven financial modeling, debt and lease structuring, Department of Education financial responsibility compliance, and institutional turnaround strategy. Allan is particularly recognized for his ability to align financial strategy with institutional mission while navigating periods of significant organizational change.
Allan served for nearly two decades in senior financial leadership roles at Belmont Abbey College, where he led initiatives involving budgeting, treasury management, capital planning, operational strategy, and long-range financial planning. In addition to his institutional leadership experience, Allan works closely in an advising capacity with higher education institutions, boards, lenders, auditors, and strategic partners on financial and operational transformation initiatives.
He has developed specialized expertise in higher education housing partnerships, public-private partnership structures, ASC 842 lease analysis, and innovative off-balance-sheet financing strategies designed to strengthen institutional financial performance and flexibility. Allan is also the founder of Higher Education Housing Partners, a nonprofit organization focused on helping colleges and universities develop sustainable housing and campus infrastructure solutions that support long-term mission success.
